Course Modules

Module 1: Introduction
In this module you will learn the basics of the Azure PowerShell Cmdlets for Azure Resource Manager and learn how to setup and configure your environment to access your Microsoft Azure subscription.
Module 2: Deploying and Configuring IaaS Resources
In this module you will learn practical how-to skills for creating and managing IaaS resources such as Virtual Networks and Virtual Machines including their dependent resources. This module will also introduce you to how to use the PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) and Custom Script extension with customizing a virtual machine.
Lab: Introduction to Managing Azure IaaS with PowerShell

In this lab, you will learn the fundamentals of how to use the Azure PowerShell cmdlets to create and manage Azure Virtual Machines. Exercises will include performing common operations like stopping and starting VMs, creating VMs, attaching additional storage and creating and updating virtual machines.

Module 3: Deploying Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates
In this module, the student will learn how to use the Azure PowerShell Cmdlets for ARM to deploy an Azure Resource Manager Template. This module will also introduce resource manager cmdlets for tagging, moving, and deleting resources and resource groups.
Lab: Deploying an ARM Template with PowerShell

In this lab, you will learn how to use the PowerShell DSC Custom script extension to automatically configure virtual machines deployed using an Azure Resource Manager template.
