Introduction to Virtual Machines
In this module, students are introduced to cloud computing and the core concepts of Azure Virtual Machines. This includes what operating systems and workloads are supported in Azure as well as reviewing the available performance tiers and compute families that are available.
Virtual Machine Availability
In this module, students will review the concepts of Virtual Machine availability as well as how to improve the availability of solutions hosted in Azure through Availability Sets, Availability Zones, and Virtual Machine Scale Sets.
Virtual Machine Storage
In this module, students will learn about Azure Virtual Machine storage beginning with an overview of the storage service followed by how VMs interact with the service. The various types of VM disks are reviewed as well as how to manage and migrate disks when needed.
Virtual Machine Operations
In this module, students will learn how to manage the lifecycle of virtual machines and associated resources. This includes how to create VMs, how to resize and redeploy existing VMs, and how to delete VMs and create custom images.
Automating Virtual Machine Configuration
In this module, students will learn how to manage Azure Virtual Machines through automation and post-deployment configuration with Virtual Machine Extensions and Desired State Configuration (DSC). In addition, students will learn how these automation components interact with virtual machines in Azure through the Azure VM Agent.
