Lecture Overview
This is course one of the exam prep for AZ-301: Microsoft Azure Architect Design. This course covers a range of topics, including the gathering of information and workload requirements, how to optimize a consumption strategy, and how to design an auditing and monitoring strategy.
Objectives
  • Create testing scenarios
  • Evaluate products and services to align with solution
  • Recommend changes during project execution (ongoing)
  • Identify accessibility (e.g. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), availability (e.g. Service Level Agreement), capacity planning and scalability, deploy-ability (e.g., repositories, failback, slot-based deployment), configurability, governance, maintainability (e.g. logging, debugging, troubleshooting, recovery, training), security (e.g. authentication, authorization, attacks), and sizing (e.g. support costs, optimization) requirements
  • Identify compliance requirements, identity and access management infrastructure, and service-oriented architectures (e.g., integration patterns, service design, service discoverability)
Pre-Requisites
  • Advanced experience and knowledge across various aspects of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data management, budgeting, and governance.
  • Proficient in Azure administration, Azure development, and DevOps, and have expert-level skills in at least one of those domains.
Lecture Modules
Students will learn to identify compliance requirements, identity and access management infrastructure, and service-oriented architectures (e.g., integration patterns, service design, service discoverability).  Other topics include identifying accessibility guidelines, Service Level Agreement, capacity planning and scalability, configurability, governance, maintainability (e.g. logging, debugging, troubleshooting, recovery, training), security, and sizing (e.g. support costs, optimization) requirements.
Additional course topics include product and service selection to align with solution and testing scenario creation.
Topics in this module include:  optimize app service, compute, identity, network, and storage costs.
Students will learn how to define logical groupings for resources, determine levels and storage for locations. This module also covers how to design auditing for compliance requirements, policies and traceability requirements. Additional monitoring tools topics such as planning for integration and recommending appropriate tools for a solution are also included.
