Lab: Introduction to Mobile Apps

Overview

In this lab, you will create an Azure Mobile App backend service. This service will consist of an ASP.NET Web API and SQL database that will be hosted on an Azure App Service. As you go through the lab you will see how to create both standard and custom API endpoints and how to test them from a REST client.

Exercises

Exercise 1: Create an Azure Mobile App in the Azure Portal

In this exercise, you will create an Azure Mobile app in the Azure portal.

Exercise 2: Create a Mobile App Database

The Mobile App you created in Exercise 2 provisioned a virtual machine as part of the App Service plan, but it does not yet have a database to store the Moible App data. You can create this database through a nice wizard in the portal. This exercise will walk you through that process

Exercise 3: Download and open Visual Studio Solution

Now that you have an App Service, a Mobile App, and a database, you can work with the backend solution to build your mobile service.

Exercise 4: Build a Mobile App Backend API

Now that you have an App Service, a Mobile App, and a database, you can work with the backend solution to build your mobile service.

Exercise 5: Test the Mobile API backend
