Lab: Introduction to Containers on Windows

Overview
In this lab, you will build and run container based on IIS Server, ASP.NET 4.5 and ASP.Net Core Frameworks. You will use Dockerfile to create container image and then use Docker CLI commands to launch thecontainers. Finally, you will work work with docker commands to access container logs and stats including CPU and memory.

Exercises

Exercise 1: Create, Run and Test an IaaS Container
In this exercise, you will create a IIS Server Internet Information Server version 10 container image using a Dockerfile. You will then launch a new container based on newly created IIS Server container
image. Finally, you will test the default web site running on port 80.

In this exercise, you will access the container logs using docker log command.
Exercise 5: Explore Container Memory and CPU usage
In this exercise, you will use docker stats command to view live stats like CPU and Memory that is consumed by a running container.
