Exercise 1: Start the Lab Environment
In this exercise, you will start the Real Time Lab environment for the lab.
Exercise 2: Managing Users and Groups
In this exercise, you will work with native Linux local user accounts and groups. You will observe the impacts of file permissions, and make a few changes to enhance the security of the system. While you’re at it, you will get lots of practice using the su command to change your identity.
Exercise 3: Customizing the user environment
In this exercise, you will learn about the various files which affect a user’s login environment. You will also learn about the usage of shell and environment variables, and the different ways of invoking a script.
