Lab Overview
In this lab, we will examine the use of In-Memory OLTP in Azure SQL Database. We will compare performance across standard and in-memory architectures including memory optimized tables and natively compiled stored procedures.

Objectives
  • Implement In-Memory tables in Azure SQL Database
Exercises
In this exercise, you will connect to your LAB VM, configure the firewall of your Azure SQL Database, connect to Azure SQL Database via SQL Server Management Studio then collect a baseline of prior to migration into in-memory optimized tables.
In this exercise, you will migrate to an in-memory optimized table. You will then benchmark various levels of optimization to compare to your baseline.
In this exercise, you will investigate techniques for further improving in-memory optimization leveraging natively compiled stored procedures and SCHEMA_ONLY durability.
